Team Up
Intervention description
Team Up is an application which aims to improve the process and outcomes of group work. Pupils work in teams during one or more lessons, using individual or shared devices, to contribute ideas and build shared presentations in the form of slide shows or posters. Firstly, the teacher sets a task with class or team objectives, and creates teams of pupils. Next, pupils contribute their ideas using a combination of text, images and drawings. Teachers can review ideas for each team and provide proactive feedback. Each team then works together to create their presentation, which can be either a slide show or a poster. Finally, when teams are ready to present, the teacher can turn their team device into a remote control for the whiteboard.
Team Up is provided by Spiral, and is available to use free of charge by creating an account on the Spiral website. From within the site, teachers can manage their classes and approve requests from pupils to join a class. Pupils require their own accounts to log in to Spiral and use the applications, but an email address is not required, simply a username and password.
